Saxifraga stolonifera-Strawberry Begonia
Product Description
Saxifraga stolonifera or commonly known as Strawberry Begonia is actually not a begonia but belongs to the family Saxifragaceae. It's a native to Japan, China and South Korea and is considered a perenial groundcover. Saxifraga stonlonifera-Strawberry Begonia sends out stolons or runners with plantlets on the end that will root where they land. Plantlets can be severed from the mother plant when roots develop. Keep soil moist and in shade or partial shade. Hardy to zones 6-9.
Container Gardens/Terrariums/Houseplants:
Saxifraga stolonifera-Strawberry Begonia does well in the humid environment of a container or terrarium. Keep plant under control by removing the runners as they sprout from the mother plant. Saxifraga stolonifera-Strawberry Begonia makes an interesting houseplant and also does well in low humidity environments with low light. Keep soil moist.
