Viking Black Chokeberry - Aronia melancarpa 'Viking'

Family: Rosaceacae
(Aro-nia: modified from Aria, a species of Sorbus)
We consider this one of the best Aronia cultivars. Attractive dark glossy leaves and superb red autumn hues make Viking a winner. Attractive flower display appears earlier than other selections. The large, attractive black fruit persists until spring. Developed in Europe as an orchard plant. Said to be high in vitamins.
